BYK m200
The BYK m200 is an affordable moisture meter for testing moisture in a variety of applications. Moisture can play a factor in coating failure, so it is crucial that it is checked. The BYK m200 is a compact tool that can easily go into any tool bag or QC kit. It is perfect for checking moisture content on most hygroscopic building materials such as wood, plaster, masonry, gypsum, and concrete.
The BYK m200 is a two-pin type penetration meter. This means that it operates by using electrical resistance. When the pins are pushed into the surface an electrical charge is sent between them. If there is moisture it will conduct substantially better, then the dry substrate and be indicated on the screen.
The BYK m200 has a compact easy carry design. It features things such as replaceable electrode pins, bright backlit display, auto shutoff, and air temperature measurements. It has 8 built in scales including multiple wood and building material scales. This allows it to have an increased accuracy. The m200 is also compatible with the optional hammer probe found here. The hammer probe allows for the pins to be drove into the surface easier.
It is capable of reading from 6 to 44% on wood with a stated accuracy of ±1% from 1 to 30%, ±2% from 30 to 60%, and ±4% from 60-75%. It can read 0.1 to 2.4% on building materials with a stated accuracy of ±0.1%.
Included with every BYK m200 purchase is:
