Positector IRT
The Positector IRT probe offers an affordable way to add the infrared capability to a Positector 6000 body. Simply slide the probe onto a standard* or advanced body* and the gauge will now be able to take contactless surface temperature readings between -94°F (-70°C) and 716°F (380°C).
The IRT Probe features a 5.7:1 distance to spot ratio. This allows users to be get precise spot readings when close and large area readings when far away. Built into the IRT probe are 7 different emissivity options as well as 2 custom emissivity configuration modes. The first mode allows the emissivity to be set manually and the second allows the temperature to be adjusted based on a temperature reading from a contact thermometer. This allows readings taken with the IRT probe to remain accurate on most surfaces it encounters.
The IRT is also able to interact with the Positector 6000 memory and statistics capability. This allows it to store up to 250 readings on an advanced body or 100,000 on an advanced body. These readings can then be easily turned into a report using the free PosiSoft reporting software or exported into a .csv file to be used in any program. Included with every IRT probe is a certificate of calibration traceable to NIST at no additional charge.
If looking for a gauge that can take infrared surface temperature readings along with other ambient conditions be sure to check out the DPMIR probe found here!
* PosiTector IRT probes are compatible with PosiTector Advanced (serial numbers 730,000+) and PosiTector Standard gage bodies with a color display. A simple gage update may be required.
