The Gardco Paint Adhesion Test Kit contains all of the equipment you will need to perform cross-cut adhesion testing according to Method B in ASTM D3359, “Measuring Adhesion By Tape Test.”
One of the most frequently performed physical tests conducted on in-place coating systems is tape/knife adhesion. Performing this test in strict conformance to the ASTM standard is critical for obtaining accurate adhesion ratings. ASTM D3359, “Measuring Adhesion By Tape Test” describes two methods: Method A (X-cut) is used for coatings in excess of 5 mils; and method B (cross-cut) is used for coatings up to 5 mils thick. The Gardco Paint Adhesion Test Kit contains everything you need to perform cross-cut adhesion testing according to Method B in ASTM D3359. A precision machined multiple tip cutter blade contains 6 or 11 teeth for maintaining spacing between incisions. Cutter blades (sold separately) are secured in a metal handle. The kit comes complete with a blade holder, small brush for removing debris after cutting the coating film, a lighted magnifier, roll of adhesive tape, and a copy of the ASTM test method, all in a durable foam-fitted plastic carrying case. - Model PA2052: Fine blade with 6 teeth at 1mm spacing
- Model PA2053: Fine blade with 11 teeth at 1mm spacing
- Model PA2054: Medium blade with 11 teeth at 1.5mm spacing
- Model PA2056: Coarse blade with 6 teeth at 2mm spacing
- Model PA2057: Very coarse blade with 6 teeth at 3mm spacing
