The Wolf Wilburn Pencil Hardness Tester is a scratch type hardness tester. It utilizes a weighted cart to apply even pressure throughout the duration of the test. The pencil is loaded into the cart and dragged across the surface. Twenty pencils (grade 9B to 9H) come with the kit.
The Wolf Wilburn Pencil Hardness Tester reduces the uncertainty of the scratch test by helping reduce user error. The pencils receive the same force at the same angle every time the test is performed. The built in level helps to keep the tests even more uniform by giving the operator an easy to follow indicator.
