Description
Tinker & Rasor Copper-Copper/Sulfate (CSE) Half Cell Reference Electrodes
Depending on the application you had in mind there are a number of different CSE reference electrodes that can suit your needs. Â These half cells are designed to withstand harsh environments and last years even out in the field. Â These Half Cells are able to be recharged allowing you to maintain accuracy for a longer time. Â Tinker & Rasor reference electrodes are designed with tip grooves to increase the surface area of the tips. Â The knurled nut on a 1/4″ rod allows for an easier lead connection (1/4″ rod not available for 2-A models). Â These electrodes are designed for pipe to soil potentials, close interval surveys, structure to cell, and lab use.
With 2 different tip styles to choose from you have the option to select which one will work best for you. Â The “A” tip is a flat tip allowing you to easily test on most electrolytes like soils, liquids, and concrete. Â The “B” tip is a cone shaped tip allowing it to easily be buried in soils to maintain a good contact with the electrolyte. Â If you are unsure which tip type to go with, it is possible to swap them later in the service life of the reference electrode.
There are 6 different electrode body styles to choose from:
2-A “Pencil Cell”: This small electrode is nicknamed the “Pencil Cell” due to the fact that it holds very similar dimensions to a pen or pencil. Â This makes it easy to carry around because it takes up barely any room. Â There is also an optional extension handle offered for this electrode.
3-A “Fat Boy”:This electrode nicknamed the “Fat Boy” is designed specifically for use on concrete surfaces. Â The 3-A reference electrode has a 3″ diameter with a waffle pattern tip allowing for an increase in surface area over the electrolyte. Â To allow for an even better contact to the concrete a sponge is conveniently included and carried in the cap of the electrode allowing you to place it between the half cell and concrete.
6-A and 6-B: The 6-A and 6-B electrodes are around 6″ in length and perfect for use in the field.
8-A and 8-B:The 8-A and 8-B electrodes are around 8″ in length. Â These half cells contain more copper rod, copper sulfate crystals, and more water thanks to the larger size of the tube.
Replacement tips and supplies are available for Tinker & Rasor Reference electrodes. Â Please call or send an email for more information and current pricing.
