Description
Using the SSPC visual guide can reduce the degree of subjectivity associated with evaluating surface cleanliness. There are a total of 5 Vis guides available.
Vis 1: Depicts 7 initial conditions of steel (4 uncoated and 3 degrees of deteriorated coating). Surfaces prepared to 5 levels of cleanliness (Brush-off, Industrial, Commercial, Near-white and White Metal) over each initial condition are provided. Additional images depicting the affect of abrasive type, surface profile and lighting on surface cleanliness evaluations are also provided.
Vis 2: 27 color photographs and black/white images illustrating 9 different percentages of corrosion (ranging from 0.03% to 50%) for each of three types of rusting (pinpoint, general and spot rusting). Use of the Guide enables the assessor to characterize both the type and percentage of corrosion present on the surface.
Vis 3: Depicts 7 initial conditions of steel (4 uncoated and 3 degrees of deteriorated coating). Surfaces prepared to 4 levels of cleanliness (hand tool, power tool, commercial grade power tool and power tool to bare metal) over each initial condition are provided. Additional images depicting the restoration of surface profile on previously coated surfaces prepared to bare metal (SSPC-SP 11) are also provided.
Vis 4: Depicts 6 initial conditions of steel (2 uncoated and 4 degrees of previously coated steel). Surfaces prepared to 4 levels of cleanliness (light cleaning [WJ-4], thorough cleaning [WJ-3], very thorough cleaning [WJ-2] and removal to expose bare metal [WJ-1]) over each initial condition are provided. Additional images depicting three levels of rust-back (light, medium and heavy) are also provided.
Vis 5: Depicts 2 initial conditions of steel (rusted; rusted & pitted). Surfaces prepared to 2 levels of cleanliness (SSPC-SP 6/NACE 3 Commercial Blast and SSPC-SP 10/NACE 2 Near-white Blast) over each initial condition are provided. Additional images depicting three levels of rust-back (light, medium and heavy) are also provided.

Testex Press-O-Film Replica Tape – Legacy Roll
$42.00
Testex replica tape is used in conjunction with an analog or digital spring-loaded micrometer for acquiring surface profile measurements according to Method C in ASTM D4417. The replica tape is rubbed onto the abrasive blast cleaned surface forming a reverse replica of the peak-valley pattern in the steel. The replica is quantified using a spring-loaded micrometer to determine the maximum peak-to-valley depth. Each roll of tape contains 50 pieces.

DeFelsko Certified Coating Thickness Standards
$385.00
Certified coated metal plates are ideal for verifying the accuracy and operation of coating thickness gauges and are an important component in fulfilling both ISO and in-house quality control requirements.
Many organizations require verification of gauge accuracy at the test site each time a coating thickness gauge is put into service and at frequent intervals during use. Ideal for this purpose, DeFelsko certified coating thickness standards have measured values traceable to a National Metrology Institution. FERROUS
